What is Asset Insights?
Asset Insights is a set of capabilities in the Synack Platform that gives security teams visibility into their assets and the testing history behind them. It combines an asset list, automated daily fingerprinting of externally accessible host assets, and asset level detail on previous tests, scans and vulnerabilities.
Use previous tests, vulnerabilities and scans to determine what needs new testing and when assets should be retested. Fingerprinting provides context for further investigation; testing determines exploitability.
How it works
Example workflow: human-led testing
Assets reach the platform from previous Synack tests, your own uploads, Synack Attack Surface Discovery, cloud enumeration and DNS resolution, or through the API and integrations with Tenable and Qualys.
Asset List
IP addresses, FQDNs and web assets with their current testing status and testing history.
Asset Fingerprinting
A daily automatic scan adds open ports, service, software, provider and WHOIS data for externally accessible host assets.

Where do assets in the list come from?+
From assets previously tested by Synack, assets you add yourself, assets found by Synack Attack Surface Discovery, cloud enumeration and DNS resolution, and imports via API or the Tenable and Qualys integrations.
How often does fingerprinting run?+
Fingerprinting runs as a daily automatic scan on host assets that are externally accessible from the internet. Changes discovered by the scan appear in asset details.
