Spark the new conversation to find actionable solutions

Synack’s Courageous Women in Security initiative was developed to bring female security leaders and executives together to empower and enable each other in having a bigger impact in their companies and industry. Women have so much to offer in an industry that still faces a significant talent gap, and need for diverse mindsets. We need to harness creativity and diversity of talent to beat the onslaught of challenges in cyber security. Yet we have a drought of women in senior positions and on the podium. Let's change that. Our goal is to create an environment that fosters authentic conversations and to provide a fun support network for women in cybersecurity.

The Synack Diversity Report

In order to better understand where we should focus our efforts — and to help the broader cybersecurity community recognize trouble spots and opportunities for improvement and greater inclusion —we surveyed people working in the field and leaders within our industry, many of whom have faced adversity personally and professionally because of their race or gender. To build our first Cybersecurity Diversity and Inclusion Report, we teamed up with students from the Center for Equity, Gender, and Leadership at the Haas School of Business at the University of California, Berkeley.

"Throughout my career I’ve seen diverse teams produce better results. Diversity is incredibly powerful and women have so much value to offer. It’s especially important for cybersecurity, which requires teams from different countries and cultures to work together to defend against new and dangerous threats. To build trust and make the cyber world a safer place, we truly need a diverse, representative crowd working together. Our goal is to build a network of bold and courageous women that can empower and enable each other in having a bigger impact in their companies and industry."
